Child care facilities and schools are constantly under scrutiny by the public for protecting the children and staff. One very simple and effective method to help protect children in these settings is by using intercom systems. 

Intercom stations allow the visitors, both wanted and unwanted, to remain outside while the staff can identify the visitor before granting access. This physical separation can be the extra few minutes needed to lockdown the building or take any other precautionary measures while the threat is still outside. 

Intercom stations equipped with cameras can also be connected to electric locks to allow entry at remote doors from a single location. The clear camera image provides enough detail to identify who is being let in.
